Drugstore Haul and First Impressions

L’oreal

Volume Million Diamantissime – £9.99

Having tried many over the past few years my taste is rather particular when it comes to mascaras. As many of my followers will know, my Lancôme Grandiose is my holy grail and recently the Rimmel Kate in 005 Eye Rock Sapphire has been a very close contender. In all honesty, I found this Diamantissime mascara a little bit of a disappointment – it didn’t give me the volume I desire and didn’t do anything for my lashes. Despite my criticism, I tend to wear it as a bottom lash mascara as the wand shape makes application easy and it doesn’t make your lashes look crumply.

Lumi Magique Base Primer – £9.99

I am all about that glow! The fact my skin is naturally slightly dryer means a dewy looking face is what I crave. This primer base is the perfect addition to my core makeup collection. For the best results I recommend mixing this primer into your foundation. I wouldn’t recommend this product for oily skin as it will probably just give additional shine.

Lumi

True Match Foundation in 1.D/1.W Golden Ivory – £9.99

This is my second purchase of this product but my previous shade (r2c2) was ideal for when my skin was slightly more tanned. As I mentioned I am all about the dew and this foundation previously was perfect. Perhaps, it is due to the fact my skin is slightly more dry than usual, but this clung to all my dry patches and did not have the effect I previously loved. I will continue to use this product and keep you updated, here’s hoping it isn’t just a bad new formula.

Nude Magique BB Cream – £9.99

Having raved about the Nude Magique CC Cream I decided to give the BB cream a try! As my skin is getting fairer the CC cream was becoming a little too orangey. This product is good but unfortunately doesn’t give that much coverage. I would recommend this product but it is very very light coverage and doesn’t hide any blemishes or redness.nude magique and lumi

Kiko – a really inexpensive and high-quality makeup brand

Extra Sculpt Volume Mascara – £8.90

This mascara does what it says on the ‘tin’! (packaging) It definitely gives more volume and is a really intense black so it makes the eyelashes look dramatic and gorgeous. My only disappointment with this product is that the wand is too weird a shape… the end that is normally thinner, gets fatter again on this and is a nightmare when trying to be precise at the inner and outer corner.

Water Eyeshadow 200 and 208 – £8.90

Typically I am not using a product for its original use but this is AMAZING! I use it as an eyeshadow base because its sticky texture makes it easy to apply loose eyeshadows on top giving you a beautiful wet-looking base, adding to the shine. However, these two shadows work as an incredible highlight! Following the application of my foundation, I add these to the tops of my cheekbones, my cupids bow and the tip of my nose –the finish is absolutely beautiful and DEWY! A makeup bag must-have!

Flawless Fusion Bronzer Powder 05 – £12.90

Originally I was recommended this product in the shade 03, but due to the yellow pigments in my skin, this was far too orangey for my skin tone. I asked an assistant in-store who recommended either 05 or 06 if you have a similar skin tone to mine. I decided on 05 as I wanted to use it as more of a bronzer than an additional contour powder. This product is incredible! The formula is buttery and has amazing pigmentation – definitely worth buying especially as it’s so inexpensive.

  1. I have both kiko’s eyeshadows and I love them as highlighters! I went to get the 208 as they told be its a dupe of Mac whisper of guilt but I found myself loving the 200 a lot more! 😉
